This is great news for the carrier! Because of these developments an entirely new software ecosystem has emerged. Velleros and our VAST™ platform are here to help carriers develop and introduce new services which leverage 2.5G, 3G and open handsets to deliver value and utility by allowing service interaction among voice, web and user-generated content.

The Velleros VAST provides the carrier-grade service delivery platform for delivering automated or triggered customized content services. The platform includes a sophisticated and highly scalable system manager that provides load balancing, redundancy, content aggregation and delivery to cellphones, PDAs, PCs, and even landline telephones.

One such example of Velleros VAST being used to interact with handset-based clients is TelePop™. TelePop is a patented mobile handset application that enables delivery of web-based personal content from a variety of information sources over 2.5G or 3G interfaces. The application uses voice telephone calls or text messages to “trigger” information retrieval and delivery to a user specified device (Mobile Phone, Web Portal, PDA or PC). TelePop is a wonderful example of how Velleros has integrated mobile web-based personal content (MySpace, Facebook, photos, video) to the natural calling and text messaging behavior of the end user.

• TelePop = a Telephone call on your mobile phone causes the webpage associated with that phone number to Pop up in your mobile phone browser.
• When a user places or receives a voice call on a TelePop-enabled cell phone or network, a phone-number lookup is sent to the TelePop server, which responds with a URL, address, and other information. A browser is launched within the first few seconds after the voice call origination, so the user can see the webpage of that person or company as they wait for them to answer.
• The URL is configurable via the users web portal, and can be an individual's or business's standard webpage, or a custom mobile-oriented version containing special promotions and coupons, driving directions, business hours, etc.
