Velleros Aggregation and Syndication Technology – VAST™

VAST™ is a carrier grade, high capacity messaging system that provides a scalable framework for delivery and broadcast of messages or content. The system is capable of receiving input from variety of sources including: CAP, XML, RSS, Web GUI, MM7, SMIL and SMPP. The system then delivers aggregated content via policies defined by the end user and through software. A common System Management layer ensures reliability, provides routing and policy management and adheres to dynamic and static traffic throttling algorithms.

The flexibility and modularity of the VAST platform allows operators to create a variety of interactive messaging applications for mobile subscribers to increase revenues and brand loyalty. The solution incorporates an SMS or short code listening capability to gather responses from the end users and act on that information. This functionality enables advanced messaging capability such as interactive TV, SMS voting, community polling, content subscription, and premium short code campaigns. The feedback can be utilized to analyze the effectiveness of the campaign, e.g. click-thru, callback tracking, etc.

The VAST platform supports an open Messaging Service Creation Environment (MSC-E) to facilitate the rapid deployment and efficient creation of SMS and MMS value-added services. An open API is also provided so carriers can tap local and national development communities to increase the number, type and sophistication of the applications running on the VAST platform.
